Simple Steps to Update Squarespace Text Blocks:

  1. Login to your Squarespace account and select which website is getting updated or new text.

  2. Select the “EDIT” in the upper left hand corner of your screen:

How to begin editing your Squarespace site: select “EDIT”.

3. Single click over the text block you want to change and select the pencil icon (or double clicking the text block will also bring up the menu of options (the text toolbar) to change the text):

4. When you click inside of your text box, the text toolbar appears. You can begin changing your text (similar to how you might edit text within a Word document.)

5. The size of your textbox may change, depending on how many and what type of changes you make to it. The surrounding text and images should resize along with it. If they don’t, drag the corners or sides of the text box or other blocks within the section to resize to your liking.

6. Select “SAVE” on the upper left-hand corner of your screen, and that’s it! You’re done!

Simple Steps to Add New Text Blocks to your Squarespace Website:

  1. Follow steps 1-2 above.

  2. Decide where you want your new text box to go and, if need be, make room for it. I’ll use my example below to walk through this process. Let’s say I want to add a 4th step in the image below. I’ll need to drag the image and text blocks to the left to make room. You can do each block one at a time, OR select all of them at once (left click and drag on mouse or keypad mouse). You’ll know which blocks will get moved when you see the blue lines surrounding the block.

The blocks surrounded by the blue lines will get moved when dragged.

3. Once I’ve made room, I click on the “+ Add Block” button that is in the upper left hand corner of the section.

4. Select the “Text” option.

5. A next empty text box appears. Move it to the space where you’ve made room for it and add your text.

6. Select “SAVE” on the upper left-hand corner of your screen, and that’s it! You’re done!

Well-done, friend! Pat yourself on the back and enjoy the new look you’ve just given your Squarespace Website.
