Squarespace Tutorials: How to Fix Instagram Feed Not Updating on Squarespace (2024)
If you’ve wondered why your Instagram feed hasn’t been refreshing on your Squarespace website recently, there’s a reason for that. Anything posted on Instagram after December 4th, 2024 won’t get refreshed in the Instagram Block in Squarespace because of a recent refresh Instagram did for their API (their software program that allows it to communicate with Squarespace).
This means users of the Instagram Block within Squarespace need to reconnect their Instagram account to their Squarespace account. Thankfully, this is straightforward and easy to do!
How to Fix Instagram Feed Not Updating on Squarespace:
Log into your Squarespace account. Go ahead and also log into the Instagram account that is supposed to be connected with your website (being proactively logged into Instagram helps you in later steps).
From the left-hand-side navigation bar within Squarespace, click on the gear icon to access your site’s Settings.
3. On the left-hand-side navigation bar, click on Third Party Tools. Under Third Party Tools, click on Connected Accounts.
4. Your Connected Accounts will pull up. If you see a notice with your Instagram account that the “Account is disconnected” then click on the reauthenticate link.
5. A pop-up will appear to walk you through the steps to reconnect with Instagram.
NOTE: If you don't have a Professional or Creator Instagram Account yet, Instagram will inform you during this process that you'll need to switch to one.
6. Once Instagram has walked you through their steps, you’ll be directed back to where you left off in Squarespace. Still under Third Party Tools —> Connected Accounts, click on Connect Account.
You should see that Instagram is now connected!
ONE LAST STEP: From this same page within Squarespace, click on your Instagram account and then click Reset Data.
That’s it! If you head over to your website and refresh the page that contains the Instagram Block, you should see your most recent posts from your Instagram feed.
